These series do a pretty good job at covering the original content, but it might do you well to also read these. While we're not going to mention these, you should also make sure to read the mangas. We're also going to mix in the OVAs (original video animations). With close to 1,000 episodes, it's going to keep you busy for a while. The best way to watch Naruto is in the way it was meant to be watched - Chronological, mixing in the series and the movies.

In 2002, the manga was adapted into an anime TV series that ran through 2007 with 5 seasons. Starting with 1999 and through 2014, Naruto became a series. Getting there will take you enough time you'll forget about this comment so I'm not going to write about the later ones.Originally, Masashi Kishimoto wrote and illustrated two one-shot mangas in 1995 - Karakuri, and 1997 - Naruto. Then 51-66 is the best arc so far imo, based on movie and expanded, it's also covered in manga. 42-47 is a Shikadai-centered arc, so watch it if you like him. 36-41 is sort of important (graduation exams, formation of new Team 7), from those 39 is based on Kishi's omake about Mitsuki. 24 is partly manga content.Ģ5-35 I would skip this unless you are interested in the Land of Water, but other people like it so you might check it out. Actually you can watch that arc first, it's a separate thing and doesn't spoil anything. If you want to skip sth, I think 2,3,4,7,10 are the least important.Īfter that, 18 is funny, 19-23 is a good arc focused on Sarada, based on Kishi's spinoff manga. But it makes more sense to watch some anime-only stuff too along the way, since it's canon after all and some important things happen there too.įirst arc is 1-15, there's a lot of slice of life stuff in those but strange things happen throughout that are buildup to culmination in 13-14 (and it's kinda important, there's a twist, things about certain characters are revealed, there's a nice fight). The minimal route (just manga adaptation) is 19-23, 39, 53-66 (well it's a little padded here and there), 148-151 (new manga arc is coming soon, too, and it should be good). Here is a handy list for reference, but take it with a grain of salt since apparently everything is canon and I have no idea how they chose episodes to mark as filler. But sure you can skip the less important stuff. Manga author said everything is canon in Boruto, even episodes about fishing and buying birthday presents.
